Morning and Afternoon Routine

We have been busy learning the various routines of our school day. Below is the routine the children wrote for arriving at school in the morning.

1. Put your bag on the port rack.
2. Get your reading folder out of your bag and put it in the tray outside the classroom.
3. Before the 8.20am bell, sit down in front of the bubblers.
4. After the 8.20am bell rings, walk down to the oval to play.
5. When the 8.40am bell rings, walk up to the classroom.
6. Put your hat in your bag and sit down in 2 lines.

Starting Monday the 12th of February, the afternoon pickup routine will change to encourage increased independence of the prep and year 1 students. Here is a run down of the afternoon procedure:

• At 2.50pm, children will pack up their belongings in their school bag and line up outside the classroom.
• When the class is assembled, we will walk together over to the under covered area outside the library and after school care room. This is where parents have been asked to wait to pick up their children.
• Children will sit down in their lines to be dismissed after the 3.00pm bell.
• The children will be told they may leave once they can see their parents/sister/brother.
• Children attending after school care will be sent into the OSHC room.
